Personality snapshot

Few test-takers anywhere are quicker to question themselves. Brunei’s respondents are the fifth most Turbulent of all ranked countries, which points to high standards and plenty of second-guessing. They also lean more Introverted and more Feeling than most, though on planning versus keeping options open they sit right at the average.

They still favor Intuition, but less strongly than the average country, and that pull toward the Observant side shows in their types. Analysts are rarer, especially ENTPs (Debaters), while ISFJs (Defenders) are 53% more common than average.

About the country

Brunei lies on the northern coast of Borneo, split into two parts by a strip of Malaysia. Tropical rainforest covers most of the land, and in Ulu Temburong National Park a canopy walkway climbs above the treetops. The capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, includes Kampong Ayer, a centuries-old village of stilt houses built over the Brunei River. Oil was struck at Seria in 1929, and the national dish, ambuyat, is sticky sago starch eaten with bamboo forks.
