Accessibility Statement
This accessibility statement applies to the 16Personalities website (https://www.16personalities.com), including our personality assessment tools, educational content, and user account features.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
NERIS Analytics Limited is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to achieve these goals.
Compliance Status
This website is partially compliant with EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03), which includes WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. We are actively working toward full compliance.
Current Accessibility Features
Our website includes the following accessibility features:
- Keyboard navigation: Full keyboard accessibility for all interactive elements using standard navigation patterns
- Screen reader support
- ARIA implementation: Robust ARIA markup for dynamic content and complex interactions
- Focus management: Clear focus indicators and logical tab order throughout the site
- Form accessibility: Properly labeled forms with clear error messages and validation
- Color contrast
- Text resize: Content remains readable and functional
- Responsive design: Fully accessible on mobile devices and tablets
- "Accessible Styles" mode: Available in user settings with enhanced visibility and additional accessibility features (auto-enabled for keyboard users)
- Alternative formats: Content available in alternative formats upon request via support@16personalities.com
Non-Accessible Content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:
Non-compliance with accessibility requirements
We are actively working to address these issues by June 30, 2026:
-
Image descriptions (Target: Q2 2026)
- Some decorative images lack detailed alternative text
- Historical articles may have images without comprehensive descriptions
-
ARIA implementation (Target: Q1 2026)
- Older sections have partially implemented ARIA markup
- Some dynamic content updates may not be properly announced to screen readers
-
Legacy interactive features (Target: Q2 2026)
- Some older interactive elements may not be fully keyboard accessible
- Certain data visualizations in historical articles may lack text alternatives
Disproportionate burden
Following careful assessment, the following items currently represent a disproportionate burden. We will reassess these items in our July 2026 review:
-
Historical content updates
- Updating 300+ historical articles to include tables of content, internal navigation, and comprehensive alt text
-
Legacy and uncommon tech support
- Testing with screen reader versions older than 3 years
- Supporting browsers older than 1 year
- Supporting dynamic layouts on extremely rare screen sizes
Given the (a) estimated cost, (b) expected number of users affected, (c) impact on core service continuity, addressing all possible issues at this time would impose a disproportionate burden on our organization. However, we are actively working to improve accessibility where feasible.
Content not within scope of applicable legislation
-
User-generated content such as article comments
- While generally accessible, we cannot control the clarity or structure of user-submitted text content. However, we will remove or modify inaccessible user content upon notification.
Preparation of this Statement
This statement was prepared on July 10, 2025 and last reviewed on the same date.
Accessibility was assessed by self-evaluation using automated testing tools and manual keyboard navigation testing.
Next scheduled review: July 2026 and annually thereafter. We also conduct regular internal accessibility audits.

Enforcement Procedure
If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility feedback, you can contact the relevant national enforcement body. Please see the following link for the list of national EU bodies: https://digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/policies/web-accessibility-monitoring.
Additional Accessibility Measures
We have an “Accessible styles” option in user settings, which is also enabled automatically for guests when navigating through the site using a keyboard. That setting gives the following options:
- Focus visible - adds a focus ring, for increased visibility of focused items on a page
- Disabled animations - disables all animations on a page
- Reduced motion - minimizes the amount of non-essential motion on a page
- High contrast - increases the level of contrast on a page
Newer areas of the website use native HTML elements wherever possible. Older areas of the site which have not been updated recently - including Articles and Country Profiles - may be missing some of the newer standards in accessibility, such as role attributes and alt text. We aim to address these issues as soon as reasonably possible.
In all areas of the website, we use accessible navigation and input elements, usually with the roving tabs pattern.
Beyond our compliance efforts, we:
- Design with accessibility as a core principle
- Include accessibility testing in our development workflow
- Prioritize accessibility fixes in our development roadmap
- Actively seek feedback from users with disabilities
